2009 Cadillac CTS-V Specs Made Official, Gets 556 HP

We knew the new super-spec 2009 Cadillac CTS-V would be getting some impressive output numbers, and today the official figures are out — 556 HP at 6,100 RPM and 551 lb-ft of torque at 3,800 RPM. With those bitchin' numbers, the CTS-V will be doing 0-60 MPH in a lightning fast 3.9 seconds, with a standing quarter mile coming in at 12 seconds flat. Sure, but how fast will she go? What about 175 MPH with the six-speed auto and 191 MPH with the manual transmission? Okay, we're a little light-headed at the moment; obviously the CTS-V is warping the space around our brains.

Barefoot Running Shoes

Vibram's line of FiveFingers shoes (shouldn't that be FiveToes shoes?) are, um, unique. As an owner of Nike Air Rifts (that just have the big toe separated), I find these oddly appealing, yet disgustingly disgusting looking. I just hope none of my winter gloves catch sight of these things, because they'll fight them for being copycats. They sell for between $70-$100 and are allegedly great for all sorts of make believe sports like ChiRunning, Pose Method Running, and Bouldering. And, if they're anything like my barefoot style running shoes, they're even greater at smelling like ass.

Want it... I bet this is how Batman watches movies.

Italian designer Matteo Ragni has developed the Fly Shelf with Integrated Projection Screen. It's a screen for your projector that hides in a bookshelf. The size shown is about 67" wide, so you're not going to get any super big-screen action, but the idea is great. A 10 foot bookshelf might look weird though. Of course, anything would probably look better than my current hidden projection screen. Which is a Dukes of Hazzard bedsheet I keep under the couch. That the cats pee on.

An avid outdoorsman, Airstream founder Wally Byam married a woman who had little interest in the "adventure" of sleeping on the ground. When he built his bride a tent on a Ford Model T chassis that he could tow behind the car, marital bliss was restored. The project gave Byam an idea for a travel trailer that moved like a "stream of air" and in 1936, America got its first look at an Airstream.

In 2000, the company's motto, "Make only improvements, not changes," was shaken by architect-designer Chris Deam who gutted a vintage trailer to create a booth for the International Contemporary Furniture Fair. Deam's ability to respect the history of the iconic aluminum shell, while bringing a lighter, more spacious feeling to the interior, was praised by Airstream purists and the design community. The design caught our eye at DWR, and we contacted Deam about creating a special edition trailer for our customers.

We're pretty sure we've just located the ultimate tool box.
